Within the health care industry cluster, our partners vary from award-winning medical centers to exceptional hospitals to knowledgeable, progressive wellness institutions. With two large medical centers, the health care cluster is one of region’s strengths. That reputation is enhanced by Gundersen Lutheran’s cancer care center with state-of-the-art technology and Mayo Health System Franciscan Skemp Healthcare’s center for advanced medicine and surgery. For eight consecutive years, Winona Health has been named on the nation’s Most Wired Small and Rural Hospital list. In addition, the region is home to Logistics Health Incorporated, the leading provider of medical readiness for the U.S. military reserve components, clinician information services for the Center for Disease Control and Department of Defense, asset visibility, temperature control, and distribution of vaccines for the government.

This cluster receives ample support within our local communities, including established research partnerships between our health care and higher education institutions. The region continues to serve as an incubator for innovative wellness developments and solutions.
